The Legal Department is divided into six teams, which are primarily responsible for providing legal information and conducting legal proceedings (from issuing initial decisions and appeal decisions to correspondence and appeals to the Federal Administrative Court and the Swiss Federal Supreme Court). The Legal Division also includes the Criminal Proceedings and VAT Offense Prevention Service. This service is responsible for conducting criminal proceedings in the area of value added tax.
