The Federal Tax Administration (FTA) is responsible for the enforcement of international treaties on tax matters. This consists primarily of the exchange of information in tax matters (administrative assistance) and withholding tax refunds in accordance with double taxation agreements, international withholding tax agreements and the EU taxation of savings income.
The State Secretariat for International Financial Matters (SIF) is responsible for the coordination and strategic management of international financial, monetary and tax matters. SIF also plays a leading role in negotiating international treaties on tax matters. The basics of international tax law can be found on SIF's website.
